The device vendor and serial are stored with the reading, tying the result to a specific analyser and its calibration record.

Common questions about combustion readings

Why record more than the CO/CO2 ratio?

Because the ratio alone does not tell you whether an appliance is efficient or whether the flue is performing. Efficiency, flue temperature and draught are what turn a pass into a diagnosis, and they matter when the same appliance is analysed again next year.

Why store the analyser serial number?

So a reading is traceable to a specific instrument and its calibration record. If an analyser is later found to be out of calibration, you can identify which readings it produced instead of questioning all of them.

Does this feed the gas safety certificate?

Yes. Readings are recorded against the job and appliance and form part of the technical record behind the certificate, rather than being transcribed separately.

Can readings be captured offline?

Yes. Plant rooms and meter cupboards rarely have signal, so readings are recorded on the device and sync when you are back in coverage.
