What temperatures should I be recording?
HSG274 generally expects hot water to reach 50°C at the outlet within a minute (55°C in healthcare) and cold to stay below 20°C. Gaffer stores the measured value and the pass/fail against your threshold rather than assuming one standard, because the target depends on the system and the setting.
Why does the instrument calibration reference matter?
Because a reading is only as trustworthy as the probe that took it. If a thermometer is later found to be out of calibration, being able to see which readings it produced is the difference between a contained problem and requestioning everything.
Can I show a customer their monitoring record?
Yes. Logs are recorded against the customer and site, so a landlord or facilities manager can be given the monitoring evidence for their premises to support their own duty-holder obligations.
Does a failed reading create a follow-up?
The log records that a remedial is required, its due date and when it was completed, so outstanding remedials are visible rather than being a note in a comment field.
