Run the day

Fill the form with no signal, sync later

A field app that keeps working with no signal and syncs later.

Part of field & mobile in Gaffer, which replaces a clipboard, a camera roll and a job sheet in the footwell.

Where the app is. The Android app is in closed testing, not on the public Play Store yet — email us at sign-up and you are on the tester list the same day. On iPhone the whole system runs in Safari today; the native app is next.

The area it belongs to

A field app that works in the basement, the loft and the middle of nowhere.

Offline-first on Android, with iOS to follow. Jobs, forms, photos, signatures and clock-ins are captured on the device and synced the moment signal returns.

Paperwork happens on site, while the job is in front of the engineer — not reconstructed in the van at 6pm.

Offline mode is one of the 7 things in field & mobile. See the rest →

What you get
  • Jobs, customers and today’s appointments cached on the device for reading
  • Forms, photos, signatures, notes and clock-ins written to a local queue when there is no signal
  • The queue flushes strictly in order, so a job is never invoiced before it is completed
  • A failed write halts the queue rather than being skipped, so nothing is quietly lost
Where it fits

Step 04 of the job: on site

The engineer taps “On my way” and the customer gets a text with an arrival window. On site: clock in, photos, the certificate for the job — EICR, Gas Safety, whatever the trade needs — signed on the device. No signal? It syncs later.

Field & Mobile is where offline mode sits, and that is the step it shows up in most. The rest of the job — quoting, scheduling, certificates, invoicing and payment — runs in the same system, on the same record. See the whole job →

About offline mode

Something else? support@rungaffer.com

What is offline mode for?

Jobs, customers and today’s appointments cached on the device for reading Forms, photos, signatures, notes and clock-ins written to a local queue when there is no signal

Which phones does it run on?

Android today — the app is in testing on the Play Store. iOS is coming; until it lands, an iPhone user has the full web app, which works in a phone browser.

What happens to work done with no signal?

It is saved on the device and sent when signal returns, strictly in the order it happened. If one item fails the queue stops rather than skipping it, so nothing is quietly lost.

Which plan is it on?

Every paid plan. Offline mode is included for unlimited users at no extra cost — the monthly, annual and lifetime plans differ only in how you pay.
