What are stock movements for?

Does stock come off when it is used on a job?
Yes. Materials added to a job move the stock, and the movement is recorded with the job it went to, so the count and the job cost agree with each other.
Can I track customer equipment as well as my own?
Both. An asset belongs to a customer and a site or to your own business, and either can carry a service schedule that turns into booked work when it falls due.
